The physicians at Longs Peak Family Practice would like to introduce themselves:


Biographic Sketches:


Susan Roach, M.D. joined the practice in 1982. She graduated from Denison University in Ohio in 1973 and received her M.D. from the University of Michigan in 1977. She completed a three year Family Practice residency at the University of Missouri in Columbia. Dr. Roach is certified by the American Board of Family Practice. She has a special interest in general family practice including pediatrics and newborn care, women's health care, and wellness issues.

Mark Laitos, M.D. joined the practice in 1983. He graduated from college at the University of Colorado-Boulder in 1976, and received his M.D. from the University of Colorado School of Medicine (Denver) in 1980. He completed a three year Family Practice residency at the University of Utah hospitals, where he was chief resident, in 1983. Dr. Laitos has been continually certified by the American Board of Family Practice since 1983. He chose family practice as his specialty because it allows him to take care of the patient, rather than take care of one of the patient's organs. He particularly enjoys providing medical care to newborns and children, and in helping his patients maintain their medical and emotional health. He has been president of the Boulder County Medical Society from 2002-2004.

Mary Faini, M.D. joined the practice in 1994. She graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1982 and received her M.D. from Georgetown University in 1986. She then completed an Internal Medicine internship at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center and served as a flight surgeon in the U.S. Air Force for four years. She completed a three year Family Practice residency at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina in 1994. Dr. Faini is certified by the American Board of Family Practice. She has a special interest in general family practice, including pediatrics and newborn care, women's health care, and wellness issues.

Chris Madden, M.D. joined the practice in 2000. He graduated from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln in 1991 with distinction and received his M.D. from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha in 1996 with distinction, where he also became a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honorary medical society. He completed a three year Family Practice residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha in 1999, where he served as a clinical chief resident. Additionally, Dr. Madden completed a Sports Medicine fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center at Shadyside Hospital in 2000. Dr. Madden is certified by the American Board of Family Practice, and is also board certified in Sports Medicine. He has a special interest in general family practice, including pediatrics and newborns, health promotion and disease prevention, and sports medicine.

Peter Marshall, M.D. joined the practice in 2008. He graduated from Colorado College in 1997 and received his M.D. from the University of
Missouri-Columbia. He then completed a three year Family Practice residency at the University of Colorado in Denver and served as chief resident, and he remained in Colorado for a one year sports medicine fellowship, during which time he served as a team physician for Division I athletes at University of Colorado-Boulder and Denver University. Dr. Marshall is board certified in Family Medicine and Sports Medicine through the American Board of Family Medicine. He has published articles in peer reviewed sports and family medicine journals, has presented at national meetings in these fields, and is
nationally involved with the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine. He has a special interest in general family practice, sports medicine, and promoting a healthy lifestyle for his patients.

A Personal Note:
In order for us to take the best possible care of you we need to maintain our mental and physical health. This means time for rest and recreation or time with our families and friends. Therefore, we will share responsibility among ourselves for taking calls for our patients. Please call us after hours only in cases of significant concern or true emergency.
